With Masters qualifications in both engineering and business and a distinguished career in research management and business incubation, Godfrey is well placed to lead the Counties Power business development team.

His period as CEO of the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Authority (EECA) started a passion for exploring winning business opportunities that also achieve carbon reduction and this has opened up a number of exciting opportunities for Counties Power to explore.

Counties Power - the infrastructure for opportunities

The role of the Business Development team is to grow the company through new business ventures that support or utilise Counties Power core business.

Counties Power already has separately competitive businesses Counties Power Construction and the Workshop. Both divisions are steadily expanding.

NZ Relay, is a great example of using our core capabilities to work successfully with a major international corporation, by providing the 24/7 relay centre for this essential service.

We own the fibre network that connects Papakura to Pukekohe and onwards through to Wellington. This network brings bulk high-speed data to the gate for many businesses and homes throughout Pukekohe (see map). If you are in the area and have bulk, high-speed data needs call us.

Projects we are currently considering include:

• wind generation
• a large data centre
• co-generation
• waste recycling and bio-energy.
