Counties Power finalist in prestigious industry awards
Local power distribution company Counties Power has been announced as a finalist in a nationwide energy awards competition.
The company is one of four in the running for the Innovation in Energy category at the prestigious Deloitte Energy Excellence Awards.
Counties Power’s award entry is INDI, the new high-tech on-line system that delivers automated fault identification and servicing. The system is a platform for communicating real-time messaging to customers along with systematic logging and dispatching of crews for faults. Using the benefits of Google Maps, the system gives the company a geographical view of power faults, where faults teams are currently located and estimated restoration times, allowing for more accurate and efficient information to be given to customers regarding fault resolution times.
Counties Power Chief Executive Sheridan Broadbent says that the Deloitte Energy Excellence Awards recognises those at the top of their game in the energy field, something of which Counties Power, and its customers, should be proud.
“INDI - which stands for infrastructure and network data interface - is an online tool that brings together the benefits of our leading smart meter network and the mobile tablets our field crews utilise to enable us to better allocate staff and resources when network faults occur. It provides scalable, real-time communications to staff and subscribing customers so those affected by outages and events can be kept up-to-date with what is happening.”
“We developed this innovative system in-house using our own talented and dedicated teams to create a system that integrates numerous data sources so our customers get reduced power outages and are kept informed. Congratulations to all the team involved in this important project that will ultimately make life easier for our local customers.”
The system is now running across the network, with the final stage of automated communications to customers going live in the coming months.
The Deloitte Energy Excellence Awards will be announced at a black tie awards ceremony on 9 August 2017.
