Security of Supply - Participant Rolling Outage Plan Notice

Under Part 9 Security of Supply of the Electricity Industry Participant Code 2010, all electricity distributors are required to prepare a Participant Rolling Outage Plan. This document must comply with the requirements of the system operator's rolling outage plan and is required for managing severe energy shortages - although highly unlikely. The plan must include details of how rolling outages would be planned and implemented.

Rolling power outages are a last resort measure for managing severe energy shortages. Under normal conditions they should not be necessary, but it is prudent to plan for contingencies where they may be required.

In accordance with clause 9.12 of the Code, Counties Power is required to make its Participant Rolling Outage Plan available to the public after approval by the system operator. This plan, approved by the system operator on 18-Mar-2014, can be viewed at the following link.
