Jump on board the Christmas Express
Glenbrook Vintage Railway will be lighting up Franklin with festive cheer this year with a new Christmas experience.
The Counties Power Christmas Lights – Trains @ Night event will see the charitable organisation’s trains, station and buildings dressed in Christmas lights, a special Christmas Express train service, visits from Santa, a Christmas market and much more.
Glenbrook Vintage Railway volunteer Sean Heenan says Counties Power Christmas Lights - Trains @ Night will run from 14-16 and 20-23 December in the lead up to Christmas.
“This is set to be an awesome community Christmas event that will also showcase our popular historical railway. We’re seeking any donations or lending of Christmas lights and decorations to help achieve the fantastic vision we have for this festive extravaganza. We’re also looking for community groups, schools or clubs who would like to perform, market and food stall operators and anyone who would like to volunteer to help.”
Money raised from ticket sales will go towards the ongoing maintenance and upkeep of Glenbrook Vintage Railway. Glenbrook Vintage Railway is grateful to local lines company Counties Power for their support of the event.
Counties Power Chief Executive Judy Nicholl says the festivities promise to be a fantastic time for the whole family.
“We’re excited to partner in this fun event that lights up our community with Christmas spirit. The Glenbrook Vintage Railway is an icon in our community and one we’re proud to support. As a power distributer the lighting element is a natural fit, creating the perfect opportunity for Counties Power to jump on board and help bring more festive cheer to Franklin.”
